THE WAKE UP CALL...

I don't intend to be poetic, but I know this post sounds like one.I am trying very hard to write, but the train of thought, just vanishes in between. For those who are sadists,a piece of good news.Yes,the sabbatical is over.Like a fantastic meal,it ended with a creamy, dreamy unadulterated vacation to the land of "bigger,better,faster,cleaner..... ".

It's difficult to describe my present state......I don't blame myself.
croggy....lethargic...lazy....tired....restless
the state is difficult to understand and even more difficult to describe...
SPOILT is perhaps a more appropriate word....

i hoped and wished like hell in the beginning that,it was jet lag....but it was and yet it wasn't....

Probably,i am suffering from an enormous overdose of love, vacation, food, nature, fresh air, sleep,an over enormous state of nothing to do and lots to see.....trying to grab more than I can retain....bite more than i can chew.....like a greedy child unleashed on a pile of chocolates....(i din eat many...O.K ate some...only !!!)....Damn...it's difficult to recollect sometimes....was it a dream....I can't connect and put it together....just fragments......the fragments of a dream....a long long one where reality merges with the surreal like a fairy tale.....without the demons and goblins and the witches....
life never seemed so pure and romantic.....

BUT....
Reality returns, bites, kicks and punches you, where it hurts the most.....

the bumpy auto rides...the "get up and go to work"feeling....the pollution...the empty house....the endless, mindless staffroom laughter, the innocent faces of 8 yr olds, pulling at your sari (and your heart strings)to gain attention....the dreaded school bell signalling the end of the cherished 15 mins of hasty lunch(a potpourri of four dabbas)......that's reality....and it's growing on me....surprisingly...fast.....the transition is so sudden that i have surprised myself too.

wasn't I just standing, watching the grand canyon, just yesterday.....
Well !!!that was yesterday....and this is today !!!!

ah, the jetlag of a beautiful vacation! :) you described it so well.. but coming to think of it, one sometimes gets all too entangled in these kinda jetlags all the time, right? nostalgia n all that.. i'm currently going thru a similar phase.. jetlag of some bittersweet twilight moments.. and the post made a lot of sense to me.

Thanks for stopping by at my blog, gazal! :) I'm glad to find yours! and hey, you teach kids? that's awesome!! :)
